NEW ROUTES 2005

Gallatin Canyon (east side)

    - "Bombs Over Bozeman" (5.11b) Aaron Hjelt, Jeff Webber. Watch Tower (Elevator Shaft); climb first pitch of "The Joker," traverse into bottom of the shaft, walk to the back of the chasm and anchor in. Route is on south facing wall about twenty feet right of "the canary" which is the crack line just right of the arete. "Bombs..." starts by stemming the back then gains the obvious fingers/hands intermintent crack. The full shaft length is about 180 feet so break it up with a hanging belay at about 120 feet. Rack: double cams up to camalot 3 plus a three and a half; double nuts. linking 2 and 3 puts the pump factor at 11+. GREAT ROCK!! Juggy, over-hanging, unique climb. Go do it! Walk Off or rap Joker. July 4th 2005, cool on a hot day.

Frog Rock
